Did Chris Cuomo verbally assault a bike rider?
In April 2020, Long Island resident David Whelan was riding his bike when he saw CNN anchor Chris Cuomo on property Cuomo had purchased last year. Cuomo was outside with his family. It has been well documented that Cuomo has the Covid-19 virus and has been airing his TV and radio shows from his home. Whelan thought it was odd Cuomo wasn't practicing social distancing given his condition. Whelan said he stopped and sat on his bike "well over a hundred feet" from the property. Whelan said, "I just looked and said, 'Isn't that Chris Cuomo? Isn't he supposed to be quarantined?'" Whelan claimed Cuomo came over to him within 40 feet of him and screamed at him, "Who the hell are you? I can do what I want. I'll find out who you are!" Whelan reminded Cuomo that his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, is the "coronavirus czar." According to Whelan, Cuomo continued to rant, "This is not the end of this. You'll deal with this later. We will meet again." Whelan took Cuomo's comments as a threat.
To date, I haven't heard Chris Cuomo deny Whelan's accusations. CNN has denied it happened but that is CNN speaking. Even though they claim to be the "most trusted name in news" I am not going to believe them since they didn't witness what happened. Cuomo did talk about the incident on his his SiriusXM radio show explaining in a rant that his public profile prevented him from firing back at people.
"I want to be able to tell you to go to hell, to shut your mouth. I don't get that doing what I do for a living, me being able to tell you to shut your mouth or I will do you the way you guys do each other."
In 2019, Cuomo had another incident with a New York citizen. A man approached Cuomo and called him "Fredo." Cuomo took that as a slur and got into an argument with the man. The conversation was videotaped and posted on Twitter. Here is a portion of their conversation.
Cuomo: "You're going to have a fuckin' problem."
Man: "What are you going to do about it?"
Cuomo: "I'll fuckin' ruin your shit. I'll fuckin' throw you down these stairs like a fuckin' punk."
Wow! I am going with David Whelan as being the truthful one in this case.
