Did James Carville believe Kamala Harris would win the Presidency?
On November 5, 2024, the American people convincingly elected Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States. A month before the election, Democratic Strategist James Carville proclaimed that Kamala Harris would win the presidency.
"America, it will all be OK. Ms. Harris will be elected the next president of the United States. Of this, I am certain."
When people use the word "certain," they are telling us they considered other possibilities. After giving thought to these other likelihoods, they then came to a conclusion. If a person is certain about something, they will not use the word "certain." In their mind, they know something to be a fact. Therefore, they would simply say, "Ms. Harris will be elected the next president of the United States."
Mr. Carville's language indicates he thought there was a chance Kamala Harris might lose. But, in supporting of his party, he announced she would win. He chose the wrong possibility.
