Did President Biden call Trump supporters garbage?

This month, Donald Trump held a rally at Madison Square Garden. Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe spoke at the event. In a poor joke, Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico "a floating island of garbage." Several days after the rally, President Biden defended the Puerto Rican community saying,

"They're good, decent, honorable people. The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it's un-American. It's totally contrary to everything we've done."

The White House realized President Biden's comments appeared to belittle Donald Trump's supporters. They then went into damage control saying President Biden was only referring "to the hateful rhetoric at the Madison Square Garden rally as garbage." But, is that true? Remember, people mean exactly what they say. This helps us to determine if a person is being truthful or deceptive.

There are times when a person might say, "I didn't mean to say that." That is a truthful statement. The person did not mean for those words to come out of his mouth. However, he did mean what he said.

There may be a couple that is having a heated argument. Suddenly, one person says to the other, "I hate you." The person then realizes what they just said and quickly apologizes saying, "I didn't mean that." Most likely, the person does not hate their companion. There is a chance they will patch things up and continue to be a couple. However, even though they said, "I didn't mean that," for a very brief moment, they did have a hatred for their partner. People mean exactly what they say.

The same day President Biden made his "garbage" comment, he tried to clarify his remarks;

"Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump's supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage, which is the only word I can think of to describe it. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That's all I meant to say. The comments at that rally don't reflect who we are as a nation."

It is true that was all President Biden "meant to say." The problem is, he said more than that.
